In northern Italy, is a city on the southeastern shore of Lake Como, called Lecco. It’s surrounded by mountains like Monte Resegone, with trails for all levels, and the Piani d’Erna lookout point, accessed by cable car.
In the city center is the Basilica di San Nicolò, with its neo-Gothic bell tower.
If you are hiking the mountains near by, make plans to stay the night in one of the many refugios and enjoy the food and spectacular views! And don’t forget to pack a pair of gloves in the winter. Those chains are like grabbing dry ice at the top!
